Dieses Jahr stieg EA und BioWares SiFi RPG "Mass Effect 2" als des beste Spiel des Jahres aus dem Rennen aus. Während Sony und Quantic Dreams "Heavy Rain" drei andere Preise abräumte für Best Original Music, Technical Innovation und Story.
Peter Molyneux erhielt auch die diesjährige BAFTA Mitgliedschaft, die höchste Auszeichnung, die die Academy vergibt.
