Zwei neue iPhone Spiele Entwickler Studios

Diese Woche wurde die Gründung von zwei komplett neuen iPhone Spiele Entwickler Studios bekannt gegeben. Sowohl Rockstar Leeds als auch Activision werden nun wohl kräftig am App-Markt mitmischen.

Lee Hutchinson von Rockstar Leeds und Matt Scepcar von Rockstar, welche schon an zahlreichen GTA-Projekten mitgearbeitet haben, werden die Köpfe des neuen Studios "Double 11" sein. Hutchinson sagte dazu:

“I think that a lot of developers are sick of huge all encompassing next-gen projects and want to get back to grass-roots bedroom coding like it was in the 80's and is for a lot of iPhone developers today.”

Auf der anderen Seite schickt Activision den Mitbegründer David Crane ins rennen mit seinem neuen Studio "AppStar Games". Er wird unterstützt von Garry Kitchen und Bill Wentworth. Das Trio hatte Senior Positionen beim iPhone Publisher Skyworks inne, welcher etwa 40 Titel veröffentlichte.

AppStar Games wird auch Titel für andere Kabellose Geräte und vielleicht auch Handheld-Konsolen entwickeln.
